Stonehenge Tour is ‘good to go’ as key Wiltshire tourist attractions welcome visitors
Local people and visitors to Wiltshire will soon have the chance to enjoy the delights of the county’s most famous landmarks in comfort, with The Stonehenge Tour set to resume.
We will once again be operating this popular service - which runs from Salisbury Rail Station and New Canal in the city centre through to Stonehenge itself - from Saturday 11 July.
We have been running buses for essential travel continuously since March but now we are ready and excited to be welcoming tourism back to this spectacular county. We've already received quite a few enquiries as more people are planning stay cations and city breaks this summer.
Our Stonehenge Tour buses give people the opportunity to conveniently travel between these popular destinations in comfort. And our team has been counting down the days to celebrate Wiltshire opening its doors to visitors once again - giving them the chance to experience everything the area has to offer.
From our part, we are ready. We have been busy preparing our low emissions buses - with stringent cleaning regimes, regularly focusing on touch points with anti-viral wipes.
And paying for tickets is easy. Customers can buy an all-in-one ticket - for travel and entry - with Apple or Android Pay. Or they can buy online and from our travel shop which is now open in Cross Keys Arcade. They can also buy a bus only ticket, if they choose to do so, which is ideal for those who already have English Heritage membership.
For those wanting to enjoy Salisbury Cathedral as part of their stay with our all-in-one ticket customers will need to book a time slot directly with the Cathedral.
In recognition of our readiness, we have received the industry standard mark ‘We’re Good to Go’ - which recognises our efforts to implement cleaning and social distancing measures for staff and customers during the coronavirus crisis. The standard is issued by Visit Britain to confirm businesses are ready to encourage visitors.
This is a very exciting time for Salisbury. It is a chance for us all to show the world that we are open for business. We’re proud to be part of this wonderful, resilient, community - and we are all confident it will welcome more visitors than ever over the coming months and years.
Visit England launched the UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for tourism as the sector works towards reopening.
The Stonehenge Tour is running to a changed timetable, to coincide with English Heritage opening times. For more information you can book tickets here
