Outstanding engineering apprentice Rebekah scoops our top award!
Bus engineer Rebekah Trevis-Smith is celebrating this week - after being named our employee of the year.
Having received top marks in all her recent practical assessments, Rebekah is able to recite engineering textbooks almost to the letter. She was presented with her award by our operations director, David Lee-Kong, at our annual awards ceremony.
“Woman are currently under-represented within the bus industry - particularly in a workshop environment, which many perceive to be a little daunting and intimidating at first,” said our Managing Director, Andrew Wickham. “It is wonderful to learn of those who are able to dispel this myth.
Rebekah has seriously impressed her colleagues and line managers - and the wider senior management team - for her attitude and achievements since joining us in 2017.
“Her confidence has come on in leaps and bounds, and she really is a credit to the values of Salisbury Reds. It speaks volumes when we award an apprentice with the title of employee of the year - and I am thrilled to be able to reward Rebekah’s efforts.”
Rebekah added: “I’m surprised but absolutely thrilled to be honoured with this award. I have many amazing colleagues and managers who have helped me develop my skills since I joined Salisbury Reds almost three years ago.
“Now I’m excited to be continuing my career here - and will be doing all I can to improve still further over the coming months.”
In recognition of her efforts, Rebekah received £500 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
Well done Rebekah!
