It’s no secret that we are fans of using the bus!  

Our latest campaign reminds everyone that buses are there for you, whoever you are, wherever you are going, making the bus part of your routine is an option. 

They might not be right for every journey you make, but the bus is a great choice for many local trips as well as some further afield too. 

In the 2023 National Travel Survey 71% of all trips taken were under 5 miles.  However, the car is still the most common mode for distances beyond 1 mile, with a significant number of car journeys being under 5 miles. 

We’d like to encourage you to think about taking the bus, so it becomes part of your routine. Whether that’s every day or once a week. 

As an example: 

Meeting friends for coffee? 

A trip from Amesbury town centre to Blue Boar Row is 7.6 miles. Taking this journey would save 2061g of CO2 compared to driving.  That's the same as keeping a lightbulb on for 581 hours!

Commuting for work?

A trip from Rowbarrow, Harnham to Salisbury Railway Station is 2  miles. Taking this journey would save 529g of CO2 compared to driving.  That's the same as making 224 cups of tea!
